Brand: Callaway Golf Pre-Owned & Outlet
Located in: Woods/Hybrids
X Fairway Woods offer superior turf interaction, alignment accuracy and more penetrating ball flight. With Callaway Golf's new X-Sole design, the clubhead rests on two distinct, raised areas of the sole, eliminating the tendency of the head to rock back and forth at address. That means a more consistent alignment that will help ensure your shots start off on-line. A lower leading edge allows you to hit down under the ball, especially helpful on tight lies. Internal weighting is positioned ideally in each loft, making it easy to get the ball airborne and resulting in a more ideal trajectory.

Best Uses:

My go to club for the second shot of a par five or approach on a long par 4. Safest distance club off the tee on tight fairways (185 and middle of fairway is far better than 220 but 15 yards in woods!). The balance of this wood is perfect with the standard graphite shaft - delivers the most consistent contact of any wood I have. Easy to shape the shot for the best approach to the green.

Callaway always seems to be on top of the performance and quality stats. You just can't go wrong in purchasing any of their equipment. Although every peice should come with a "sack-full" of "golf shots". I do not seem to have any! But, like I always say, " If you can't play worth a darn, you need to look good!". So, Callaway does it all for me.

I am a 70 year old short hitter who is happy with a 200 yard drive and elated at 220. Therefore, I use woods on everything outside 130 yard. I also have the X Driver and X Hot 3 wood so my set is now complete. Unfortunately, you do not make an X 9 wood for left hand players or I would have it too. I do have a 9 wood made by another company and use it all the time for 140-150 yard shots. I bought a Big Bertha 5 hybrid for my 130 yard shots, but cannot hit it consistently, and will part with it at the first opportunity. I use the woods from the fairway, rough and even the desert with great results. I even hit the driver from the fairway and rough when I need to keep it low. In summary, these are the perfect clubs for me. I should add that I am now hitting regular shafts instead of senior and now hit more consistently and far straighter.

I was away on a business trip in Hawaii a few years ago and the rental set at the course we played at was the Callaway X Series. I liked them enough to purchase the 460 Driver and the 5 Wood. Have had them for a year and I have never hit the ball so well. I am consistantly hitting the fairway with the driver and now love par 5 holes as I my second shot has gotten me ever so close to the green. But....I never could hit my 3 wood so I did not make the investment. Decided this year to purchase the 3X Fairway Wood via the Callaway Pre-Owned website and it was delivered as promised. Played with it for the first time yesterday and never hit a 3 wood so well. I am better than a hacker but a casual player at best. These clubs are very forgiving and probably the best purchase I have ever made. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

After playing for over 30 years (wow, I must be getting old!) I can't say too many clubs in my bag are the "best" I've ever hit. They're all good of course or they wouldn't be in there. However the one club I currently use that is by far, hands down, the BEST club of that type I've ever owned is my Callaway X 15 degree "Tour" model 3 wood. It's absolutely perfect. I love the weight, the small head, the modest profile (which makes it easy to hit off tight lies) and the overall look. This is a great, great club. A classic!

This is best for tight fairways. The only part of my game that is any good is my distance which is usually ~310 with the driver. This 3 wood is usually around 280 for me off the tee and ~260 from the fairway. It's outstanding and tends to draw more than fade.

The X is longer and more forgiving, plus it is more versatile than the SH III. I have been hitting 2nd shots from the fairway so well I no longer fear long Par 5s! Been looking for a new 3 wood for a while. Decided to give this club a shot. I mainly use it for tight fairways, and very long par 5's. The first time I hit it it went straight and far. I love the way it feels when you swing it. It just feels like you have a very smooth motion. after swinging this club, I can totally notice how flimsy my previous wood was. I will defentially be investing in the 5 wood as well. I would highly recommend this club to the average golfer.

Bought the X Fairway 3 Wood from the Callaway Golf Pre-Owned website after much deliberation.[...] The condition was as described.Took it out to the range and was hitting straight at the 200m target flag and ending up at about 210m consistently - into a head wind!I've never really had much success with hitting fairway woods and have perfected the longer irons instead. However I now think I've found the right club! Not only would I recommend the club, but I would recommend buying it from Callaway Golf Pre-Owned.

At the age of 56 I've lost some clubhead speed (down to about 85) so decided to replace my old reliable rifle-shafted TaylorMade Supersteel with the "X" 3-wood. Love the swingweight - the shaft seems to have a strong influence on the "just right" feel of the club; provides superb trajectory; Stripes it right down the center about 230 off the tee; easy lift off the turf. Based on the results with the 3-wood I added the 5-wood and have seen similar results. Great clubs!

I currently have a Callaway X 11 degree Driver and various other Big Bertha and Steelhead Callaway woods. For some reason, the X 5 wood feels heavy and uncomfortable. Right now, it's not in my bag. I'm using it only on the driving range until it either feels right or it just absolutely doesn't. Final judgement is hopefully in the near future.

Always have had a difficult time with a 3 wood. Always have had good control with a 5 wood, but sometimes lacked the distance needed. The X 4 wood by Callaway is getting the job done. Love it!!

I use a 3-wood as my driver and this club probably provided me with another 20 - 30 yards off the tee. It really makes one conscious of their mechanics, although the club is very forgiving. Great distance and excellent accuracy.

These X-series woods are the best I have ever used. I can consistently out-drive my friends with these woods off of the tees and be straighter down range. For me, the weighting is perfect. I own the 3, 5 & 7 woods in stiff flex and can't say enough good things about them.

I use it for mid range (160 to 175 yards) distance. I'd like to buy 5 wood for my longer distance.

I bought the four wood with a regular flex and just love it. My swing speed is about 91mphs. I usually could only fade my long shots, but with this club I can draw the ball consistently! However, when I need to fade the ball it obeys.

I loved this club from the first moment I hit it. I have a Exotics 3 fairway metal that I could never feel at one with. I even changed the shaft hoping to achieve the distance I required, but still couldn't blend with it. From the first hit with the X series steel head, I gained the extra 20-25 yards needed. If I ever felt at one with a golf club, this 3X series is it.

I just got the fairway wood and not played to many rounds. When I hit it well it shoots off the face and goes where I want it to go. Heavy head allows me to get through the rough, small head allows me to hit it well from the fairway.

Old Hawk Eye is better

Distance and accuracy from the fairway is about the same as my old Great Big Bertha HawkEye. From the rough, HawkEye is better (and visually looks to have a bit more loft than the X). I'm going back to the HawkEye.

I've had a Warbird 3-wood forever. I've been trying to find a reason to get rid of it as it was about 10 yards shorter than I thought it should be. Problem is, I couldn't prove that even after demoing 3-woods from Ping, Taylor Made and Titleist. Then I went back to Callaway, found and tried the X 3-wood, and finally found my reason to retire the Warbird after double digit years. Straight, consistent and long.

Cons:
Closed club face

Ive used only Calloway woods for almost 20 years. I just purchased the X 3wood and I tend to hit it left or draw it. The angle of the face is severe compared to previous 3woods.
